On January 14, one of the key topics of the online seminar for the heads of primary trade union organizations of the Passenger Company and Station Company branches of Ukrzaliznytsia was the draft of the new Labor Code of Ukraine—a document on which, without exaggeration, the daily working reality of hundreds of thousands of employees in the industry depends.
The Federation of Transport Trade Unions of Ukraine executive Secretary and labor law expert, Oleksandr SHUBIN, provided participants with detailed information about the comments and proposals developed by the Federation.
The position of the FTTU is clear and consistent: the government's draft of the Labor Code requires substantial revision. The goals declared by the government—modernizing labor legislation and bringing it closer to European standards—cannot be achieved without substantial changes and additions, in particular those developed by experts from the FTTU and its member organizations.
In this context, the debate surrounding the Labor Code is entering a decisive phase. Our Federation is determined not to stand by and watch, but to influence the outcome. This is not about an abstract law, but about labor regulations that will determine the future of transport workers.
Oleksandr SHUBIN also emphasized that seminar participants could ask questions and raise concerns about the draft law and receive the necessary explanations.
